Humour.. always works!

Mum to son: "You make so many mistakes all day!"
Son to mum: "Yes mum, that's because I wake up very early in the morning."

Creating conversations with humour is known to be one of the most effective ways of grabbing a child's attention instantly and having them disciplined accordingly. It makes it so much easier for adults and children to complete an activity together.
Parents in search of a good theory .. This is better known as 'Playful Parenting'.  :) :)

A childhood filled with fun and humour has benefits that can last a lifetime.

My 5 year old niece comes to visit me one evening. As I open the gate to welcome her, she runs towards the main door of the house and says, " hey aunty, you are allowed to enter your own house, don't be shy." [ she sounds half American as she does this.... where did she learn to alter her accent???!!!]

If you have experienced a delightful or humorous incident with your child.. do write in, Would love to know about it. :)

One on one with Superwoman!

I met superwoman... single, single mother by choice, moved her home 4 times in the last 3 years, works for half a day, picks up her children from school at 3:30 pm [ luckily they have the same pick up time! ] work for another couple of hours after, trying to maintain a 'work-life balance' [as it's called] and dedicate the rest of her evening to her children. [we are all aware of what happens to children when they don't get their fair share of your attention! :) :) ] I would also like to add cooking to her list.

I think to myself... " how does she manage all of this entirely on her own?, where are all the 'helping hands, all the shoulders to lean on?".

"So I ask, " where do you get the strength to do this each day?"

She gives me a smile that reaches her eyes and says..
"when all was taken away from me and I was desperate, I prayed and begged and prayed again and  cried and prayed, yet again.. there was no one in particular I prayed to.. I just prayed.

Now I have so much with me.. that I never want to let go!
